  • Dock Master/Outside Patrol Security – Serves as the tactical response element for Sands Expo’s Security Department, for both routine and emergency response operations. As the Security Department’s frontline of defense, enforce property rules and respond to incidents, accidents, alarms, and disturbances. As an ambassadors of Sands Expo, provide world class customer service to guests and attendees of all conventions and tradeshows on property. As Dock Master, this position is primarily responsible for safe and secure loading operations occurring on the Sands Expo loading dock, enforcing safety and special dock management safety rules and fire codes.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • Able to stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, walk for long periods of time, walk on highly elevated platforms, and deal with confrontational people.
    • Able to successfully complete annual fire extinguisher certification.
    • Trustworthy - able to safeguard confidential information. 
    • Able to perform tasks accurately with minimal supervision, and with superior attention to detail.
    • Able to work well in a team environment.
    • Able to work non-standard or extended duty hours as necessary.
    • Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification.
       
  • Exhibit & Business Service Center Manager - Responsible for supervising the company’s vendor orders for service and ensuring a high quality of customer service.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements: 
    • Must be familiar with procedures and functions of the supervisors and customer service representatives. Including: Boomer orders, processing of checks and wire transfers.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Highly organized and flexible.
    • Able to multi-task and meet challenging expectations in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be self-directed and meet deadlines – a self-starter.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Must have superior customer service skills and strong decision making ability.

  • Exhibit Service Representative - Responsible for representing the company in a professional manner as the first point of contact in the Business Center handling our exhibitor’s needs.  Provide a high level of customer service to each Exhibitor.
    • Follow proper phone procedures and etiquette.  Assist customers in placing show orders.  Email or fax show forms to customers requesting them.  Presents resolution to customer order inquiries. 
    • Enter service order data into system including Business Center, Convention Services, Electrical, Internet, Floral, Plumbing, etc.
    • Enter payment information and charges orders.  Prints work orders when necessary.
    • Provide high level of customer service on a person to person basis with our exhibitors at the service desk or satellite desk.  Offers assistance to our customers with invoice needs. Provide support to ensure customer satisfaction surveys data is accurate.

 

  • Exhibit Service Representative (On-Call) –Responsible for handling for handling Exhibitor needs as the first point of contact within the Exhibit & Business Service Center. Responsible for providing a high level of customer service to each Exhibitor while representing the company in a professional manner.
    • On-call position.
    • Follow proper phone procedures and etiquette. Assist customers in placing show orders. Email or fax show forms to customers requesting them. Presents resolution to customer order inquiries.
    • Enter service order data into system including Business Center, Convention Services, Electrical, Internet, Floral, Plumbing, etc.
    • Enter payment information and charges orders. Prints work orders when necessary.
    • Provide high level of customer service on a person-to-person basis at the service desk or satellite desk. Offers assistance to our customers with invoice needs. Provide support to ensure customer satisfaction surveys data is accurate.

 

  • Facilities Sustainability Manager - Responsible for ensuring that all Sands Expo departments align with corporate sustainability initiatives, projects, and programs. The Facilities Sustainability Manager is also responsible for tracking data and creating reports required for compliance with LEED and other certifications held by the Company.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • Knowledge of building construction and maintenance procedures
    • One (1) or more years of experience managing a sustainability or recycling program.
    • Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships.
    • Working knowledge of various sustainability and green initiative certification requirements a plus.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Excellent communication skills, both in spoken and written form.
    • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, and give direction to internal and external clients and Team Members of varying backgrounds and levels of experience.

    Essential Functions
    • Conduct one-on-one meetings with department managers to gather information and offer advice about materials and products that would help the Company maintain its LEED certification.
    • Coordinate with sub-contractors and maintain quality control of the sub-contractors’ duties, including design of special projects, turning the project out to bid, and the final nature of the project.
    • Create reports and record data including, but not limited to, energy use, recycling, and preventative maintenance required for compliance with LEED and APEX/ASTM certifications.
    • Send emails, updates, and information to departments regarding Sands Cares community involvement activities.
    • Research new sustainability programs that support the overall Sands Eco360 program; coordinate, organize, and provide instruction to departments to help implement new programs.
    • Schedules meetings with on-site exhibitor clients to determine recycling and donation needs and performs all related follow-up tasks to complete agreed upon recycling plan.
    • Monitor progress of programs and projects developed during Green Meeting planning with clients to ensure program goals are implemented.
    • Oversee Sands Expo recycling programs including material donations, food donations, and waste haul.
    • Make recommendations to Director for improvement of recycling and sustainability programs, as identified.

     

  • IT Service Desk Analyst I - Must have experience with Windows Active Directory, Exchange, Windows7/10 desktop support, iDevice support, Microsoft Office products, printer/scanner support, desktop deployment, ghost, and troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate must have excellent telephone and communication skills, as well as the ability to work individually, as part of a team, or with clients and other groups. This position will also be required to document and provide end-user solutions.
    • Provides on-site and telephone Level 1 technical support for the determination and resolution or escalation of basic and advanced technical problems related to the Windows operating environments and Windows applications including Windows Office, Outlook, etc.
    • Provides on-site and telephone Level 1 technical support for the determination and resolution or escalation of basic and advanced technical problems related to enterprise applications and databases, security systems and related desktop hardware/software.
    • Troubleshoots problems using desktop remote control products where possible and documents all services provided.

  • Parking Attendant - Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of traffic flow at the main entrance and parking area of Sands Expo, while providing the highest degree of customer service. Manages the flow of taxicab traffic and enforces laws of operating taxicab stands, helps guests entering and exiting taxicabs and assists with their luggage. Organizes flow of limousines, enforces limousine staging rules, and enforces local laws regarding limousine staging and driver solicitations. This is an on-call position that operates during select Sands Expo events.

 

  • Security Officer - The Security Officer is responsible for serving as the tactical response element for the Sands Expo Security Department’s mission, both for routine and emergency response operations. As the security department’s frontline of defense, enforce property rules and respond to incidents, accidents, alarms, and disturbances. As “Ambassadors of Sands Expo”, provide world class customer service to guests and attendees of all Sands Expo conventions and tradeshows. Directly reports to the assigned shift supervisor.

    Essential Functions:
    • Patrol grounds and perimeters, and conduct checks of facility and equipment; record findings.
    • Report unsecure doors, windows or other openings; suspicious persons, vehicles, or circumstances; hazardous conditions; equipment operating at wrong times; problems with firefighting equipment; violations of company security or safety policies.
    • Conduct static observation posts, observing personnel activities to detect threats.
    • Responds to accidents, incidents, and alarms, in order of priority, to conduct initial incident investigations and discover and document essential elements at the time and location they occurred.
    • Deal with difficult people in a fair and impartial manner.
    • Monitor materials and equipment entering and leaving the facilities.
    • Write reports, statements, and maintain logs as necessary.
    • Issue trespass warnings as necessary in accordance with NRS 207.200.
    • Represent Sands Expo in a positive and professional manner.
       
  • Security Shift Supervisor – Responsible for leading, supervising and providing operational oversight for all assigned security officers operating on shift, and primary supervision for all routine and emergency response operations during each tour of duty. Enforce team member work standards and serve an essential leadership function within departmental structure. Closely coordinate and assist Assistant Security Manager with implementing plans, programs, and training initiatives. Primary advisor to the Security Manager regarding morale, welfare, and staffing of assigned personnel.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • Previous supervisory experience.
    • Knowledgeable about industry standards and concepts of physical security.
    • Able to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on elevated platforms for extended periods of times.
    • Able to defend self or others from attack.
    • Proficient in the use of computers and operating software, including databases.
    • Able to speak in front of others, including briefings and classes.
    • Knowledgeable and proficient of laws of the State of Nevada, including trespass, arrest by private person, and use of force.
    • Proficient operating telephones and radios.
       
  • Show Cleaning Supervisor – Responsible for supervising Team Members performing daily tasks, including cleaning the interior and exterior of the facility. This position will perform tasks necessary to maintain highest level of cleanliness. 
    • Responsible for increasing the efficient use of machines and Show Cleaning contract labor.
    • Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources.
    • Perform daily inspections in all public space and back of house areas.
    • Supervise, train and evaluate assigned Show Cleaning staff members to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness is maintained.
    • Perform equipment inspections and ensure all equipment is operating properly.
    • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
    • Supervise Sands Expo Show Cleaning Team Members and temporary staff, and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines.
    • Use floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning safely, according to proper usage.
